Learning to talk starts from the moment you are born and doesn’t stop! By listening to the world around us and the people we are with, we begin to choose words or sounds in a way that shows people what we want to say

Charlene’s answer may help to explain how we learned to speak as baby’s but if your question is about how humans learned to speak – we’re still not sure.
There are a lot of scientific theories around grunts, tongue movements and clicks, and more language ideas.

It is not fully understood how we learn, but it has been found that babies try and copy the sounds that others makes and movements of their face.
