I wake up early in the morning and do some stretches. I grab some breakfast and head to my study space for my first online lecture at 10am

This year I am working on my final year project – this is a literary review on microbe-microbe interactions in the digestive tract
I take part in online project meetings- this involves discussing research papers and working on our literary review. We will be working on posters to present our data

After a busy day, I talk to my friends online or listen to music. One of my favourite things to do is play video games. My favourite game to play at the moment is Stardew Valley.

I normally wake up around 9 or 10 and head straight outside with my dog for a good walk and catch up on my podcasts.

When I get back, I check my emails quickly to see if anything needs to be looked at urgently.

This year I’m taking a break from college before my masters, but I still do a lot of volunteering. One of the projects that takes up a lot of my time is working on a climate science curriculum for people over the age of 10.

In my free time, I’ll do anything from read, play playstation, play drums or nap (a lot).

Every day I wake up and check to see if anyone has sent me any emails with important information about my work or looking for help with their projects. Sometimes I do some zoom calls with my supervisors to update them on my work, and then I head into college.

When I get to the lab, I do tests on my bacteria. I am looking for bacteria that make antibiotics to treat infections.

When I am not in the lab I am at my desk reading lots of articles written by other scientists so I can learn about their work. By learning from others I can make my own work better by learning from what they have done. I also emails or doing volunteer work like answering these questions for Cell Explorers! A few times a week I teach lab classes to college students so they know how to do experiments too.

After being in the lab all day I go to the gym! Exercise is very important for staying healthy. Before bed I always read something before sleeping. That pretty much sums up what I do every day!
